I often think of Ryan, all the time I spent at your home with Melanie. You had raised a remarkable young man who charmed and left an unforgetable impression on who ever he encountered in life. | Message | Happy 28th Birthday, Precious Son! June 6, 1980...Friday was the day you were born 28 years ago...what a joy! We had our "gentleman's family" and we were so happy. Never did we ever imagine that our lives could change so tragically...nothing can prepare a family for the worst possible thing that could happen to them. Life has certainly been a struggle for the past four and a half years. We often say how we were robbed, but you were surely robbed. All your friends are getting engaged, married, or having babies...we will never experience that joy and happiness with you. As the song says "you can't buy memories that matter"...that is surely the truth. All the money in the world couldn't bring you back to us...nothing really matters...nothing. You have so many angels there with you, we are sure that today you are "ripping her up" and "having a pint from the silver cup." What we'd give to hear your whistle once more...remember The Star Spangled Banner...you thought I didn't know what you were whistling and I was enjoying it so much I didn't want you to stop...you must have been ten years old then. I am rambling but that's how the thoughts are now...AND thanks for the salmon on Dad's line! He won't have to go to Dominion this year...lol Until we meet again, Love forever and ever, Mom & Dad  |

| Message | Hola Precious Son, Thanks for the sign...I asked for one for Mother's Day when I was walking today and tonight Malcolm's Mom and Dad came by with a wedding invitation. While we surely cannot attend, we cherish that he thought of us. Malcolm was your first chosen friend and he keeps in touch still...such wonderful friends that you have! Another angel is with you...Leon...you have as many friends in heaven as you had here...enough for a good party. | Message | I just learned of Ryan's webpage today through an email from Shirley. It was a very sad day when I heard about Ryan's tragic death. I also work as an Engineer in Alberta and have visited many field sites in the upstream oil and gas industry and have seen many of the safety pitfalls first hand as well. It has been many, many years since I last saw Ryan, which probably would have been in Eastport. I had to go to the page of Ryan's Younger Years in order to recognize him. We have all grown up too fast! I recently almost lost my son as well to a rare neurological disease called ADEM. My little Evan, who just turned 4, is now on a long road to recovery and we don't know what the long term prognosis is yet. However, I started another disfficult day today feeling a little better after reading an email from Shirley who said Ryan always wanted a little brother and that she was going to ask him if he would be Evan's guardian angel. Well Ryan, I hope you are up for the job because we need all the we can get. All my best to Ryan's family and friends. Love, Blaine Penny |

| Message | Shirley and John, I have just finished looking at every picture, and have read every word on this beautiful site. How hard this must be for you,my eyes could not stop crying as I read each wonderful tribute. I did not know about your son until tonight when I was speaking to John. Life's tragedies are never explainable, they leave alot more questions than answers. It seems that Ryan, left a wonderful mark on those people's lives he met and those who knew him. And I am also sure that his life has impacted many who did not have the pleasure of knowing him, including me. This site is so touching and must help you both get through the hard days and help you reflect and smile on the easier ones. Leslie Ann |

| Message | Dearest Son, Yesterday your good friends, Gary and Rose, got married in Mexico...Melanie and Dwayne stood. We know you and Clarence were watching and cheering them on, as both of you would have been if circumstances were different. Guess you had a drink from a silver cup, in celebration.
