MessagePlease raise minimum wage ASAP. Senior Citizens on the Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program would greatly appreciate it. They have been making only 5.15 for many years.

MessageOne dollar is a start, though a living wage in NC is somewhere between 10 and 12 dollars an hour.
This is something everyone should support.

MessageI think the minimun wage should have been raised awhile ago so I support this petition. As US citizens and residents of NC we can do better to help the working poor in our fair state and the nation.

MessageI am for the increase in the minimum wage rate. As the price of everything else increases, it would be foolish to think anyone could survive on the same rediculously low income as in previous years.

MessageThanks to Treasure Moore's proposal. I am a retiree and would never expect anyone to work
for me at today's minimun wage.

MessageEndless research in the fields of public policy, economic development, and social welfare shows that there are few changes more effective and, in the long run, better for the economy, than increasing the minimum wage. And as if the body of concurring research is not enough, it is also the only humane way to reward the extraordinarily hard work that most minimum wage workers do - work that is essential to the sustainability of our state's way of life.

MessageEveryone wins with this proposal: workers; their children and families; individuals, as well as local, state and political leaders who favor (1) reducing Medicaid expenditures and other entitlements and (2) increasing employment; and, North Carolina businesses, the latter of which will see the purchase of greater numbers of goods and services by persons who previously had little expendable income. Furthermore, it helps those most beset by the impact of inflation, rising medical costs, and the doubling of fuel costs in a short period of time.
