And as if the body of concurring research is not enough, it is also the only humane way to reward the extraordinarily hard work that most minimum wage workers do - work that is essential to the sustainability of our state's way of life. |

| Message | Everyone wins with this proposal: workers; their children and families; individuals, as well as local, state and political leaders who favor (1) reducing Medicaid expenditures and other entitlements and (2) increasing employment; and, North Carolina businesses, the latter of which will see the purchase of greater numbers of goods and services by persons who previously had little expendable income. Furthermore, it helps those most beset by the impact of inflation, rising medical costs, and the doubling of fuel costs in a short period of time. |
