MessageI also agree that some after dinner entertainment would be a very good idea and a welcome addition to what is already a fantastic weekend. However, due to contractual and EU regulations it will not be possible to bring the Le Lion Rouge Dance Troupe (The Red Lion Morris Dancers) over from France...... Sorry guys! smilie

MessageLike Blandy & Mick B, I am also in favour of some form of entertainment after the meal as long as it is not a karaoke we may be tempted to try to perform. that won't be good at the end of a weekend drinking....

MessageI attended Geordie Farrell's funeral last Friday 10 October and laid a wreath on behalf of the Reunion Club. There was an excellent turn out for him of former members of 3 PARA as mentioned by Paul earlier + a large contingent of PRA members from the NE Region & other local association members who gave their support. It was much appreciated by family and friends.
There was a collection at the end of the service at Geordie's request which raised the magnificent sum of £409.20p to be donated to PARA charities.
RIP Geordie from all your friends.... JJ

MessageI think Blandys right, there should be some sort of entertainment after the dinner, If I remember right the other Hotel used to put on a show for us, perhaps the committee could try and find out if this is possible.

MessageMessage for the Committee.

Following on from the huge success of this years reunion I have had a few requests from members wives and partners....and some of the blokes asking would it be possible next year to include a disco following the dinner as the evening tended to become slightly disjointed as the night progressed, not least with some members choosing to leave the function prior to the dinner finishing!

I did say I would put it to the Chairman and Committee and would be interested to hear other peoples views.

Due to adverse comments from the RSPCA following this years function it is unlikely that the Blues and Royals will be at next years reunion, however there is a chance of an entertainer from the Continent bringing his dance troupe.....Watch this space!!

MessageGents, Re Geordie Farrell's funeral, I've put a picture. On the 3 PARA Facebook site of a poem that the locals put up in the bar after his death. For anybody who might like to view. Sorry about the blurred quality my hands were shaking after a late session with Charley Simmonds, Ozzie and Stubby Kay who came up from the 'shot'. Just a special mention to the Tyneside and Consett Branches of the PRA. - well done lads, that was a large turnout, you did. Geordie and the PRA proud.
