MessageApologies - a somewhat belated (!) Happy New Year to everybody.
The Reunion
Arrangements are going ahead as usual but can I remind everybody - if you are coming, please get your bookings into Dave Dyson ASAP. We have to give the hotel estimated numbers at the end of this month and FINAL numbers in February, after which the hotel will sell any rooms not allocated to us and you will have missed out. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!!
PS - a great shame about Murray Smith.
Regards to all
Terry Carroll

MessageRecieved on Gmail for the attention of Terry Carroll

How are you? This is a blast from the past I know - seems a long time ago since we worked together and travelled to Bosnia.

I found you via the web and thought I would let you and your colleagues know there is a story featuring the Red Devils on a show I made recently... coming out this week,

I thought you might be interested. It involves the near miss the display team had last year at Whithaven and has interviews with all the lads involved.

They were great fun and really helpful with the show, and I thought former regiment members might like to see it. Perhaps you could let some of them know?

It's on BBC 1 daytime - Close Calls on Camera this Thursday 7th January from 11.45 to 12.15 in the morning.

Kind regards,

Ginny Hill

MessageMurray L Smith was born in 1941 and served mostly with 3 PARA but he was RSM of 2 PARA and steadied the ship during and after Warrenpoint. He was commissioned in 1981 and retired as a Major in 1989. He then worked for NAAFI, where he held the honorary rank of Lt Colonel.
He will be sadly missed by his many comrades and friends.

MessageSad News
Murray Smith (RIP)

Unfortunately my father passed away peacefully last night at home with my myself, mother and sister.
The funeral has not been arranged yet but is likely to take place in early January. I am happy for my email to be shared amongst your members.
Dad was immensely proud being a Para as we were of him.
If this message could be posted I would be very grateful.

Thanks
