| Message | Some memories of an ex Jumped up Crap HAT. (216) of my time with D(Patrol Company) on our run up to our deployment out to Borneo during Confortation. 1. Getting a right blxing from our now Honorary President Maj. Gen. Peter CHISWELL, then Major CHISWELL OC D Coy for having a pee on the wheel of his landrover on our way back from an exercise in the Brecons. 2. The debriefs when we were forbidden fron using the terms, A.We bashered up, (Night ambush positions) b.Stopped for a brew,(Temporary ambush positions with a view to kill over tea)/ Overall a feeling when I returned to by parent unit (216) after 2 years with 3 Para that I had just spent the best two years of my life with some of the best lads I would ever meet. | Message | My name is Roger Payne and I served in the 60's in 1 Para, Maida and Browning Barracks, number 23851948. I have just had a e-book accepted in the US. It's caled 'Swinging Under A Red Beret' and is full of short humerous stories from the brigade written in the langage we used - F's, C's, T's, W's etc. Now I want to go one better and write a second book of about 250 tales and am looking for more short funny stories. 10% of what I make from both books will go to an airbrone charity.
