| Message | Hello everybody, Just a reminder about the all battalion reunion club charity function taking palce in Blackpool over the weekend 22/23 November, details of which I and Bernie McClory have posted on the website. I have been speaking to the organiser (Dave Singletary - 2 Para Reunion Club) who tells me that so far nobody from our club has responded!! I am attending the Past & Present Dinner that weekend, so will be unable to attend personally but I hope we can have some representation from out club - so please, if you can, GO! | Message | Col FH (Jim) Scobie OBE, formerly CO of 3 PARA 1965-7 has died on 5 September aged 83. He had been in hospital for the past month resulting from head injuries suffered from a fall. He was commissioned in 1942 and retired in 1969. When CO of 3 PARA the battalion was deployed at short notice on an emergency tour to British Guiana. The funeral will be held at noon on the Wednesday 17th September at Welford Church, near Great Shefford north of Hungerford, Berkshire. Former Airborne and Parachute Regiment friends would be welcomed to attend the Service.
