| Message | Hello I am posting this message on behalf of my Father Duncan Audemard who is 94 years old with Dementia. Dad served with 3 para and I have a picture of him that i am using to make a memory board for him. He tells me he served in 1947 at 18 year old and his service number was 21048819, however I can find no record of him online. Has he got his service number wrong or can someone point me in the right direction to update his details Kind regards Grant ( son) |

| Message | My father was RSM 3 Para at Suez in 1956 and I was then ten years old and living at Aldershot in D block Corunna barracks opposite the drill hall. I am writing a book about his time in the 2 SAS during WW2. He and I visited his operational area in 1982 together and met French farmers who had hidden him and his men when on this mission. It was called operation Pistol and was held in September 1944. dad blew up a small troop train and killed several of the enemy (around 6 in total) in hand-to-hand combat when they tried to capture him. They had trapped him within a cottage. He was very proud to have been part of 3 Para and I have several photographs of the Suez operation from 1956. I first saw these in 1956 and I have seen these at the Museum when it was at Aldershot. Dad won the Croix de Guerre at Silver star level - one of 11 such medals won by 2 SAS in WW2. He identified himself as the soldier putting on his beret at Suez as Colonel Crook walks away - you can just make out his moustache in the image -yet others claim it as being their own father and have even made a web page illustrating it as such. I have the set of Major Norman photographs here at home and first came across them in 1958. The imperial war museum recognises the soldier as being my father. Graham Alcock |

| Message | Hi all my dad served in 3 para 60s/70s well we came back to England in 1979 from Germany hes 74 years old and his name is William James barlow (Billy ) he was from Clayton in Manchester just wondered if anyone on here served with him I recall a someone called fudge Mike Keith would love to get em together to see him as he often speaks of his days in the army and I also feel they were our best days as a family I know we kept in touch with a couple of his pals but don’t know what happened afterwards Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully can reunite my dad with his old muckers x  |

Laurie Ashbridge Tom Vinn Banks Middleton John Wilson etc. I'm asking if anybody can give me info about a Robert Ryan, he says he served in 3 from 1975 to 1987. Was a member of the Red Devils and served with the SAS. A big bloke around 6 feet tall big built. He also says he was in the Falklands. Thanks and regards to those who remember me |
