| Message | BERT HUGHES M.B.E. I was fortunate enough to attend the Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate the Life of Bert Hughes M.B.E. last Friday in Peterborough. The number of people that attended was a tribute to his popularity and professionalism both as a soldier and indeed a friend, there were lots of his comrades from across the water, as well as from the world of mortaring and even us basic infantrymen were well represented. It was a very sad and moving occassion and it is safe to say that DAVID LLOYD HUGHES M.B.E. will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Bert. |
