| Message | Howdy, I was looking for information about my Grandfather and happened on this site. My dad was GMC Robert Krtek. He retired in 1959. I think he was on the ship 1956-57. I think he was King Neptune in 1957. Heart attack and "clinical diabetes" said Balboa hospital. He passed away in 1970 at the ripe old age of 50. Too bad he never got to use this contraption to keep in touch with you all. I still have a photo of him and another sailor in uniforms with knives in their mouths, eyepatches and beards. Also his "order of the deep" card and "Honorary Order of Artic Adventurers" card from the USS Seminole in 1952. As always, all you guys remain my heroes, I'll never forget your service. Best wishes to all. Bruce Krtek ([email protected]) |

| Message | It's been a long time since we've posted anything in the guestbook, but just wanted to let everybody know that we are still watching the Spangler website almost daily for any changes or additions. We've probably not seen all that's on there now but everything we have seen is very interesting. Congratulations Wayne on a wonderful job getting it running. We hope to see a lot of Spanglermates in Myrtle Beach in October. Greg & Shirley ([email protected] |
