MessageI posted this on the 'sound off' board as well. I plan on attending the reunion and would like to pay for/share expenses for transportation to the Liberty Inn. I don't drive, and limo/shuttle service is nearly $100 each way to the airport. I'll be traveling alone, with only one bag. If you're going and taking a rental car, and feel like you have room, let me know. I served in Commo Platoon, 1962-64, and am looking forward to seeing a few brothers at the reunion.

MessageDon,

Sorry, but the U-boot has sunk forever. Most of the old haunts are gone now, Including the Hole-in-the-wall, Silber Mond, Columbus Bar and even Tony's bar across from the gate. I served in Fulda 1962-64, and the last time I was there, in the 90's, there were few of the old places still in operation, or they had changed so much that I didn't recognize them. Of course the main city park, the Dom, St. Michael's Church and a lot of the old landmarks are still the same, but most of the old hangouts have closed. It's still a great city to visit, though, and I'll go back again, time permitting.
