MessageRoger,
Thanks for an informative and friendly website. Not my first visit to it (I think), but got the link through my membership of your VHF AM Yahoo group.

MessageNice page, thank you. I have a lot of QRP interest, both working and building kits - and large wire antennas. I like to operate to England both cw and ssb (..more watts on ssb) as my sommer cottage has nice location/wire antennas favoring England.

Best luck and and hpe to meet u cw/ssb

MessageHi - Thanks for all the Rockall information. It's fascinating. I was trying to view it on Google Earth as well, but the resolution of satellite photos in the mid-atlantic just isn't there ! Have fun. Paul. Curacao.

MessageDavid Rutledge, KN6EK has written a great book, titled,

"The Electronics of Radio" published by The Cambridge U Press which takes you step by step through his CLASSIC HOMEBREW RIG, "The NorCal 40". In my opinion, One of the world's simplest 2 watt wonders!

I built one of the original club NorCal 40's and have had several confirmed contacts of over 2,000 miles on 40 meters during 0 (zero) sunspot activity! I have had 599 contacts 500 miles away which I had to give power reports over again, because their reply was "did you say 2 watts? Your signal has been as good as rigs running 100 watts!"
