MessageI was born the 23rd May 1940 on Red Pit Farm to Dorothy McEvoy, father's name Alfred George Turner, carpenter and joiner. The owners or residents of the farm at that time were the Price family. Is there anyone with any knowledge or information concerning my father Alfred George Turner and what became of him.
I presume there is the possibility that because of his age he would have died, and if so I would like to know where he was buried.
Thanking you for any response to my inquiry.

MessageFor John Loveridge.
John. I believe through my research that Douglas, was a cousin to my branch of the Collier family, also from Dilton. As you state he fell in the Great War and is commemorated on the Memorial Wall at Tyne Cot Cemetery in Belgium. I have visited the site many times. If you have no luck in discovering a closer relative, I would be proud to take the relics.
Regards
Chris Collier

MessageThrough a family connection in the Baptist Church I have come into possession of a Death Plaque and medals from WWI for Douglas Sidney Collier, who died on 4/10/1917. He was the son of Mrs Frances Collier of Dilton Marsh. I would like to give these items to a family member if possible. Does anyone know of any descendant or relative of Mrs Collier?
