MessageTo all of you who may be searching for Lawrence ancestors in East Kent, there is a free website at www.lawrence.eastkentgenealogy.co.uk which has lots of church records, census and civil registration information for Lawrences (and Laurence, Larrance etc) living in Ash Next Sandwich, Barham, Canterbury, Deal, Dover, Goodnestone, Nonington, Sandwich, Thanet, Wingham, Woodnesborough and all places in between.
I am also in the process of building a Moody website along the same lines, so if you have any links with the Moody families from Nonington, Barham or Wootton please contact me via the Lawrence website.

MessageHi

Just to say I like your website very much. I think it is a very good service for the village of Nonington. Richard Henley are you the webmaster of the site? My mum's maiden name was Henley and I am researching my family tree including her side. My tree is at http://www.tribalpages.com/terrycleaver and I have researched quite far back to my grandad (David Harry Henley) grandad Joseph Henley. The majority now reside in the Dover area however the name/family originates from Devon, moved to Hastings (where Ruby Tee nee Henley) was born, then France before settling in Dover owning a farm where Elms Vale Rec now is. If you know any more info please contact me. My site Dover Soul at http://doversoul.tripod.com also has more info on my family tree.

Would it be possible for you to contact me regarding this? Also I would like to link to your website and could you link to mine?

Many thanks in anticipation for any info you may have

MessageHi John,
Sorry you are disappointed that Nonington College is skipped in the village History Section. Yes, we all agree the college played a significant role in the village and you will find several references in the website guestbooks from past students. Our local historian, Clive Webb has included a
considerable piece on the history of St Alban's Court, its buildings, land and early occupants.

Unfortunately, he has little to offer of a historical nature about the college itself, other than personal experiences when the college was for females only! He was a young village lad at the time.

If you can fill in some gaps or provide information, I know he would welcome the opportunity to publish. Maybe you would like to start a page devoted to the college - we welcome all contributions. I think it could be very popular with past students and perhaps have a more 'local' feel than sites like Friends Reunited. Please let us know your views on this suggestion. Thanks for your interest in the village.

MessageSuch a shame that the history section skips Nonington College. Reading this site, no-one would ever know it existed. I'm disappointed.

MessageHello to you all. Lovely to see the pictures of the Church. I miss it so much. The parish where I'm licensed now worships in a school. Not a patch on the beautiful St. Mary's. What a super idea this web site is and great for those who have lived, worked or done their teacher training there to be able to cxatch up with the village they new and loved. Rev Helen might like to know that I've just done 6 months chaplaincy work at RCH Treliske. Many blessings be upon you all and a very happy Christmas when it comes. My love to everyone. valerie & David.
