Thank you for visiting my guest book. Thanks to those who have signed it, stating who you're looking for, and about your roots. Do you know the province or area in Poland your family was from? Did your relatives immigrate to America, another country, or is your family still in Poland? I love hearing other people's stories. I find it inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Julie
Note: In the blog title section, under "pages" there is now a "blog title surname index" page. This index I created is for names you write about. If you would like your guestbook post to be a blog post, let me know and I'd be happy to share your story.

Message | I wanted to submit my Polish family lines to share with you. I have decent information about the families once here, but nothing about them in Poland. The locations in Poland are based on what my great-great aunts told me (their parents, Jacob Pilarski and Helena Mechavich, were born in Poland).
Pilarski - possibly from near Gniesno. Arrived in the US (New York) in mid 1870's and settled in McLeod Co., Minnesota. Three siblings: Frank, Josephine, and John. Frank married after he came to the US. I haven't determined if Josephine married John Faloron before or after she came to the US. John brought his wife Josephine Pietrowski (or Bilkowski) and children George, Jacob, and Victoria.
Cielinski and Misiewiez - possibly from near Czestechowa. Arrived in the US (New York) in the mid 1870's-early 1880's and settled in McLeod Co., Minnesota. Matthew and Rose (Piejda) Cielinski came to the US with their children and their families: Frances (Vincent Bielejewski), John (Antonina Andvejewski), Josephine (George Mechavich/Wojciech Misiewiez), Lizzie (Frank Schloderbach), Mary (John Imbriowiz), and Frank. Frank married after the family immigrated. The families stayed in Minnesota with the exception of Lizzie and Mary who went to Chicago. They did not come all at the same time but appear to have arrived by 1885.
George Mechavich had two brothers and three sisters still in Poland at the time of his death in 1931. |
