MessageHi: I served onboard from recommissioning in 1953 to October 1955. Did two Med cruises and two shakedown cruises, as well as going through that hurricane in 1954. I was a radiomen in the OR div and would love to hookup with any of my shipmates. I was close with Dan Boone, Jerry Fanning, Joe Marciano, Ben Johnson, leland Stone, Robert Milligan, Pappy Pavavous from Cisio, ILL. and others I cant remember. Rm1 Richard Krahl has passed away a number of years ago. Please contact me slootz34@att.net or 561-483-5263.

I served aboard the Randolph during the same time period. I only went to sickbay a few times during my time aboard. You were most probably the Doctor that told me that I had the flu and needed to stay in bed a few days the day before we crossed the equator. I missed out on the fun of my first crossing but I only blame myself for not going through it anyway. Sorry I don't remember you by name. There were some good days and some bad days back then but "all in all" I enjoyed my tour. Contact me some time. There's probabaly a lot we can talk about.

MessagePaul Mershon,
I've been looking for old shipmates with not too much luck. Found only one. While we are not shipmates persay, We served the same ship and same division. I served from 58 to 62 in G Division and was GMG2 in charge of mounts 52 and 54.
Love to hear from you,

MessageMy father, John Elmer Rhodes, was a musician and served aboard the USS Randolph. Sadly, Dad passed away in 2005 just short of his 92nd birthday. He always talked about his time on the Randolph and was on board when it suffered severe damage during a hurricane.
