Message | Thanks ebbingnight :D Something told me to check the guestbook (it no longer sends me notice) and there you were. I was worried the end was so disappointing you couldn't reply. Glad you found some measure of closure in it. yeah, I cut Elrond's final scene; it was pretty gruesome and I ended up feeling like it made him too easy to forgive and more sympathetic because what the Wood Elves did was so violent and brutal. so yeah, Thranduil got sick of having him there, having grown up enough to understand his focus should involve more than his personal desire for revenge. and i came to understand that Legolas really could not face him yet. that would have been Elrond's 'true' moment of salvation, but i denied him. and you're right, I really just had to stop and end it as best I could. I have been in this one place for a very very long time. i worried about it so much of the time and worried about all the endings it required and finally chose those i felt i could write, gave up one scene i really wanted to write, for balance. and the final scene that has played in my head for ten years? nope, not written. thank you for being there and being supportive for so long |

Message | Thanks Stef I am pleased you liked Talagan's decision. He was the last one, and the first to condemn Legolas. Well Taurant is and has always been terribly spoiled, terribly jealous of Legolas, and terribly easy to manipulate. Has his father's flaws and his mother's combined, and little of Thranduil's strengths. There's a couple of scenes missing because it was a lot and hard to work in, maybe someday they'll go into the feud files, that shows how this came to pass. Gwilith is beginning to resemble her mother a little too much. She resents Legolas because he is alive and her mother and Lindalcon are dead, and Legolas is responsible as far as she is concerned. thanks for being her all these years :D |

Message | It has been a long, long, wonderful ride! And I'm so happy that you wanted to share it with all of us. I really loved Talagan's appraciation of his own crimes and fate, and loved to see Legolas finally receive the just recognition among his people. To be honest I was a little taken aback from Taurant's tantrum and Gwilith manipulative ways, but youngs will be youngs, and their behavior attest that they at least grow to be real princes of their home. And now Legolas will go and become a hero for all Middlehearth and not only Tawar. Thank you so much for your talent and your dedication to this story through the years. |

Message | Thanks L Well, I cannot be sad about it. High time to move on. Thank you for so many kind comments. Yes, the story will stay on the website here and I'll keep it up maybe another year. BY then the sotries should be all transferred to Archive of our Own and this site will disappear. Thank you again |

Message | Wow - I can hardly believe that Feud is finally complete! Congratulations on such a stunning achievement. I love how you've rounded off the story, yet indicated how it continues. For, of course, we all know that Legolas will become a member of the fellowship. I like how there was no easy forgiveness for Elrond, considering all the pain he inflicted and I loved Elladan's nobility in offering himself in service to Thranduil. I think my favourite moment was seeing Legolas putting on the uniform of The Greenwood after so many years of being denied that honour. When he touched the archer's badge and recalled the incident right at the start of the story that had brought the Judgement upon him, it was so moving to remember all that he had been through since then. Congratulations, Ellen! This was a wonderful way to end such an epic tale. |
