MessageChris,

I'm glad that you and other JDB fans enjoy the site. Since Feb 2006 there have been nearly 2000 visitors, which is great, and I think shows just how much interest there is in Joe Don and his work.

I am in total agreement about the original "Walking Tall" - you couldn't better it. Your best bet to get the original is probably Ebay, I have seen copies there before.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the site over the past year, and I hope that people who maybe know him for one role will want to catch a few more classic performances.

MessageJust wanted to post that one of Joe's co-stars on Eischeid passed away several weeks ago; it was Vincent Bufano, who played Det. Alessi.

There is an "In Memoriam" notice in today's New York Daily News on page 73.

Vincent and I were high school classmates at Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx; while we were not buddies (since we hung with different crowds) I do remember he was in at least one of my classes and I almost fell on the floor when I saw him in the opening credits for EISCHEID.

Say a prayer for Vincent.....I know I will. smilie

MessageI tend to agree with Angel, until there is proof positive about this, I would leave it alone.

MessageThis myspace: http://www.myspace.com/joedonbaker is completely fake. It is probably some dude posing as Joe Don Baker. To top it off he is so rude.

MessageWhy Mr. Baker is not a super-star is beyond me.

The man is a dynamic, charistmatic, sensitive and oft-humorous actor. He deserves much more recognition than he's been given.

To get an idea of the range of his acting skill, watch "Edge of Darkness." --

MessageHi everybody! I'm a good friend of JDB....I'll make sure he reads your comments the next time he is over. He is a collector of Doak Walker memoribilia and I help him search e-bay for Doak items...He'll be happy to read all of your warm comments. He has a new film called "Strange Wilderness!" which should be out soon.

MessageThis past May 2006, I decided to go down to visit Adamsville, Tenn., the home of the late Buford Pusser. The Buford Pusser festival lasted three days. Although I wasn't there the third day, they did show the original "Walking Tall" movie the last night of the festival.. I was given a personal tour of the McNary County the jail, etc. by a man from Canada who is a big Buford Pusser fan. Joe Don Baker did an excellent portrayal of Buford Pusser. I even met Dwana Pusser and she is a sweetheart. She loves her daddy. I think Joe Don Baker should visit the next festival. I know they would love to have him.
