| Message | Hi from California! I am the daughter of Elisana (Elsie) Porreca and Albert Pepe from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Louis Porreca was my grandfather from Pennsylvania who drowned while at work when I was about 3 years old. I have very little memory of him. My mom told me he would always laugh  LOL whenever I would ask for chicken, that is, the chicken bone --- I did not want the chicken meat, just the bone to chew on.I hope to visit Italy some day! | Message | Carissima Agata, Grazie per il pensiero. Ha piovuto per 2 settimane, ma qua dove stiamo noi, sulla costa circa 100 chilometri sud di San Francisco, non e' successo niente di grave. Le inondazioni e nubifragi ci fanno poco paura in paragone con i terremoti. Infatti, c'e' stata una scossa mezz'ora fa. La mia citta' di Santa Cruz era all'epicentro del terremoto di 1989 e il centro e' stato completamente distrutto. | Message | Chiedo scusa dell'intrusione, ma vorrei sapere Don e i suoi amici della California come stanno; in Italia si hanno continue notizie catastrofiche di inondazioni e nubifragi di quella parte degli Stati Uniti ed è naturale che il mio pensiero vada agli operatori di questo sito. | Message | Hi, my name is Rita, it's my mother and grandmother who was born in toricella. So i'm writing from us three. They just want to post that the people who created this site are extremely talented and very knowledgeable , there's a huge amount of history that will never end and we love reading about it. Brings back so many memories that she thought were lost. It's very heart warming to see all the pictures and what the town looked like back then and they preserved it very well till today. Hopefully this site will also start bringing back some family and friends who are out there back into our lives. Merry Christmas to everyone and a happy new year.  |
