| Message | Ted Randall, a well known radio programmer in the early sixties. recruited many deejays, myself included, usually from smaller areas, to join the top 40 revolution. Their tenure at the station varied and I am sure that few stations then or now have an "alumni association" that comes close to the "mighty" 1240. KXOA and KRAK were competition in the pop music field. But KROY, despite its minimal power at the time, was always dominant. It was an exciting time to work "summer fun time" on "Colorful KROY, number one...and gettibng "ONE-ER"...It was a deejay "mill" of the highest order"...but a unique experience..... |
