MessageAs a fan, I had the pleasure of meeting Shawn Tompkins on more than one occasion in the last couple of years on my trips to Las Vegas. Each time, whether it was in passing or at the Tapout Training Center, Shawn was open and receptive to my request for a photo opportunity and just to take a few minutes to conversate.

It isn't often professionals in the world of sports recognize their fans, let alone take time out to acknowledge and communicate with them. However, Shawn was the exception to the rule.

They say the "good die young," sadly Shawn Tompkins is a perfect example. May God Bless your family and friends during this most difficult time. Take solace in knowing Shawn is heaven holding mitts for others.

Easy,

Sam 'ALL JAM' Perez

MessageI wish to express my deepest condolences to the Tompkins family and all of his friends. I admired Shawn greatly, although I did not know him personally,I know his fighters and I have always admired not just how they fought in the cage but how they conducted themselves in the world representing Canada and Ontario.

I great coach and man who will be remembered forever

MessageThank you Shawn for your contributions to MMA. Not only by teaching the skills you had, but by hearing from others how great of a person you were, teaching fighters how to be outstanding people as well. Only the best die young.

MessageI had the opportunity to meet and speak with Shawn this past May during MMAjunkie Radio's 1,000th show. While I never had the opportunity to interview him, it was clear to me how well spoken and extremely knowledgeable Shawn was. I have a huge amount of respect for Mr. Tompkins and he was a terrific person. Our sport has lost a great coach, who truly loved the sport and his athletes. My condolences go out to Emilie, Sam, Chris, Mark, and his entire family.
