MessageYou will truly be missed in the sport of MMA and your legacy will continue through all the fighters whom you have trained and supported. You've accomplished so many good things in life and one of them being one of the best trainers ever. My thoughts go out to your family and friends in this difficult time

MessageShawn, I'll always remember your smile, and your laugh. Both were truly unforgettable. Your determination and drive took you far beyond where most of us from small towns get to. I'm proud to say "I knew Shawn when..." The world will not be the same place without you. Peace to you and your families..know you touched many people, and we're all grateful to have gotten the chance to know you.

Emilie, you had a great guy in him. I'm so terribly sorry that he was taken from you so soon.

MessageI met Shawn in 2000 in my hometown of Lockport, NY when I was judging fights on local cards there. Shawn would bring in his fighters & often-times have them drop split decisions to local fighters. With my scores being the lone honest calls for the legit victors. His fighters. And Shawn would always seek me out afterwards to thank me for being the judge who was brave enough to actually call it as I saw it rather than simply calling it for the the locals. That always meant a lot to me.
I also judged one of Shawn's early pro kickboxing matches vs Amer Abdallah here in Western New York.
Shawn put in an excellent effort & came up just a wee bit short, losing the bout. This time, the local fighter actually did enough to legitimately win & once again, afterward, Shawn sought me out & thanked me again for having integrity with my judging.
He was a class act as well as being a terrific, passionate coach.

He will be missed greatly.
