MessageHi, just wanted to say great website - I have a huge interest in this area and find these old houses both fascinating but extremely sad. Will definitely be on the lookout for your book. Please keep up the excellent job of cataloging our past. My ultimate dream would be to win the lotto and take one on to restore it!

Good luck with your book smilie

MessageI was so glad to stumble across your website, Mr. Blake! Are you going to make your fine book available to us in America? If not, how could we obtain it otherwise? I had the pleasure of visiting Eire this past spring to look up my roots in Co. Sligo, and your photos bring to mind for me the little cemetery of Templemore in Riverstown, where my great grandpa is buried. The ruins of an abbey are barely discernible through the overgrown brambles, and the place is surrounded now by cow pastures. But it remains the resting place of my family, and thank God we can have such methods as photos to record where they once stood and now lie sleeping. If there is a way to get on the waiting list for an American release of your book, I'd be happy to sign on to it. Thanks for capturing the receding past before it had vanished into memeory!
Respectfully,
Ed Iverson

T.B> Thanks Ed. My book will be officially published in America early 2011. You can however get it now through places like Powells book shop, they ship it from Europe: http://www.powells.com/biblio/66-9781848890619-0 and you can also order through www.amazon.co.uk

MessageCongratulations Tarquin on such a fantastic work and for documenting a part of our heritage that is disappearing very quickly. I am familiar with the location of a number of the buildings you have documented and recorded. Do you have location maps or directions to all of the properties.

MessageJust read the Sunday Times review of your fantastic book and having looked at your site I know what my kids are getting me for Christmas. I also know that there are many more old mansions and dwellings throughout Northern Ireland and perhaps we shall see more of these historic icons. Well done!
