That was a very rational post. I don't disagree with a lot of what you said.
The problem is that no matter what their intentions are, Bryce's parents are causing him immense pain right now. You say you don't know where he is, and neither do I. But, it seems almost certain he is in a camp that uses intense brainwashing techniques to try to break a person's psyche down and rebuild that person the way the camp directors see fit. These people are not licensed psychologists or psychiatrists, yet they promise change to people that just want to be accepted, and will do anything to try to make people, especially their families, accept them. These people give their patients prescription drugs to try to change an orientation that cannot be changed, just suppressed and lived with in pain for the rest of their lives.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist or a crazy person. These are facts about these Exodus International affiliated camps. I don't know exactly what Bryce is being subjected to right now-- maybe it's not unnecessary Prozac, but maybe it will be down the road when there is no permanent progress. All I know is none of it is good for him, his mind, his personality, or his spirit, and it is all unnecessary. |
