MessageIf you'd say you were abducted by aliens and that they've anally violated you, I'd believe you.

Try using your bloody brain for once.

MessageWow. I'm sorry to say that I agree with Bill's response. Although you have obviously given your positions much thought, your conclusions are not well founded. To me it's like someone who has had only had basic math attempting to debunk calculus. I've been looking for solid arguments from atheists for a while and just can't seem to find ones that aren't either fallacious, intellectually dishonest, ignorant of the principles of historicity and hermeneutics or mis-representative of christianity's claims among other things. I know that there are many Christians who try to evangelize without much knowledge and that is a shame. But that doesn't constitute proof of Christianity's illegitimacy. You should try listening to or reading some good debates between Christians and atheists.

MessageI was hoping to get more out of your forum. Your positions are only supported by your own personal opinions. Many of your questions are easy to answer but you don't give any other views but your own. Where is the sholarship and research? "a fool has himself as a teacher" ancient Chinese proverb

MessageI too have recently de-converted from Christianity, so I understand what you've been through. I'm still disappointed with myself for believing in the first place but you learn from your mistakes. You will have noticed that christians will make all sorts of crazy accusations such as 'you where not a real Christian' or 'you did not understand' etc... all standard responses. Well, you've done some great research, so you'll know as I do that they are mistaken. Anyway, congratulations and thank you for the fantastic web site.

MessageI find your work rather interesting. I would caution your use of the word Christian as if it pertains to all who believe in the way you describe. There are fundamentalist Christians as well as those who are not. Just a thought for you to consider.

MessageI appreciate your honesty, but it seems from reading some of your articles that your "young" faith in Christ was based on a faulty assumption that Jesus and Christianity were supposed to make life great. You say your Christian faith "gave me a powerful feeling of purpose, made me happy, and I even got a lot of prayers answered through it," but when circumstances went bad for you, you began wondering why, and doubted / disengaged from your beliefs. Now you say you are into New Age / Eastern paths looking for bliss. Well, I'm afraid you totally misunderstand Jesus and the Scriptures and invite you to continue to be open minded and consider that you missed the entire point, for it is obvious you are misguided. For instance, you say, "How could a passionate devoted Christian on fire for the Lord who preached the Gospel to others be repaid with Schizophrenia and live with an inner indescribable hell for two years?" Look to Jesus. Was he "repaid" for perfection by getting mocked, tortured and crucified? No. Jesus endured the cross "for the joy set before Him." His entire focus was not on this life, but Heaven. If your life is focused on this life, you will die. You have a deeply flawed understanding of evil, sin, human nature and human suffering. You also have a very shallow understanding of Scripture, which I would suggest you continue to study more deeply. I pray that God would lift your eyes above trying to make life work here on this barren rock. God bless

MessageAs a Christian, I agree with much of your attacks on Christians who have abandoned the life of the mind. Neither you, me, or anyone should take things "by faith" that don't stand up to scrutiny.

That being said, you do use a lot of language that requires much faith. I'm curious how you can say that "no one is perfect" and that all people are "fallible."

How do you arrive at any reliable standard of perfect/imperfect or good/evil? I don't want to put words in your mouth and misrepresent you. Any chance you could drop me an email?

thanks!

MessageReferring to your article on Law of Attraction and Reality Creation, you should understand the subject matter before attempting to debunk it; because you clearly don't.

MessageHi Winston,
In your article “Debunking the Arguments of Christian Fundamentalists and Evangelists” you say you believe in God.
Would you agree that the term “God” can have a different meaning for different people – for example, for a Hindu it can be taken as a reference to Krishna, for a Muslim, to Allah and for a Christian, the God [aka Yahweh] of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
Would you please define the God you believe in?
