| Message | Hi, I like others are very interested in visiting the castle. I was just wondering if you have organized a volunteer group such as, "Friends of Dundas Castle" to help clean up and raise money for the restoration of the building. It seems to me a shame that such a building, which is in the Historical register, is not being stablized and restored. I work at Olana Historical Site and see what can be done if people are interested in this project. I for one would like to volunteer although I am a good distance from there to me it's worth the time and gas. I am in Catskill NY. The owner would only gain from the project. Email me anytime. |

| Message | For Murray Dundass who lives in Ontario, CN, & and has John Dundass as~ 3x gr' grandfather. ME TOO! He & that branch entered CN., then migrated S.W. to KS, NB, etc. They then met up w/this branch of family from NE. I live ~ 45 min from Castle but only learned about it shortly after visiting SCT. | Message | My daughter and I visited this private no trespassing property today (June 24, 2013). We climbed the hill through the woods to get access to it. Unfortunately every window is broken and you can tell kids partied there. There's broken glass and graffiti everywhere. The property has not been kept up as it is over grown with weeds and grass. We went in quickly due to DEP patrolling the area and us not wanting to get arrested. I took a bunch of pictures and some video and quickly and quietly left. Very very sad that it looks NOTHING like pictures I found on-line. |
