MessageWe still have my great great grandfather's family Bible signed "James Archer, July 5th, 1884". He made 2 other entries, "James and Hannah Archer married May 17th, 1885" and "Arrive is America April 24th, 1888."

MessageTracing my mother's family and back to my great-great-great-great grandfather, Thomas Whitehead thought to have been born in Easton around 1788, died 28 Sept, 1859.
Curious to know if any Whiteheads (my mother's maiden name) are still living in Easton on the Hill. I was born and raised in Manchester to where my great-great grandfather moved around 1880. My mother is still alive at 90 years old and I will be back in England in early/mid September 2014 and hope to pass through Easton so if there are any Whiteheads in the area, feel free to contact me on the above email address and I would be happy to share the genealogy research I have and possibly even meet. Best regards to the village of my ancestors!

MessageI've recently relocated back to the USA from London, and moved to Seattle, Washington. I purchased an old desk that has a brass plaque inscribed "To the Revd P L Hooson MA, from the parishioners of Easton on the Hill, 19 Sept. 1932.

I've discovered that Revd Hooson was rector there from 1912 - 1932; and I presume the desk was given to him as a gift on his retirement/departure. I'd be happy to have any more information you might be able to provide, but wanted you to know that, while I have no idea what brought it to Seattle, its in good and loving hands.

MessageGreetings. My father was in USAF and served with RAF Sdrn. 144 during 1961-62 at N Luffenham. I was only a month old when we arrived, and moved into a building known as The Abbey. I'm hoping the building is still there, and that there may be some additional history about it available.
Warm Holiday Regards

MessageI lived in Easton for five months in 1985 when I was only five and while I was there I attended pre-school. I remember how the only US president was I knew was George Washington and I never understood why the british adults always tried to change the subject when I brought up his name. The town left a lasting impression on my and I like to consider myself in honor of the town.
