MessageI have been enjoying your blog. Found you thru Rae's link and discussions. I live in Salem, Or. Saw that you passed this way on your trip down. If you are coming back this way maybe we can meet for coffee. You could start a list of "lurkers" you have met. I am counting the months 14)to retirement and fulltiming.

MessageI am Evelyn and Steven Fincham's brother (you met them in SMA). Just a tip on your alternator problem for the future. Power up your generator and you should be able to get to a shop if you have this problem again.

MessageHola Croft and Norma,
Second year that we missed seeing you. Rats! We made a big loop this year and then shuttled into Guatemala leaving the ol' beige Lazy Daze in S. Cristobal. Interesting adventure. Got to spend a couple weeks in San Miguel and catch all the political discussions. They had 2 great panels at the Biblioteca "What Canadians want Americans to know but are Too Polite to Tell Them" Wish you and Norma had been there!! Remember the good old days watching the American primaries with Hillary and Barack? Hope to see you all next year.

MessageI really enjoy reading your blog Croft. Your observations are not only informative about traveling in Mexico, but you also make no apologies for being an open-minded and affirming human being. As a 65 year old retired US Navy Commander (25 years service), married 35 years, father of three, I am constantly embarrassed by the homophobia rampant throughout the USA. I thought my military service was to protect people's freedom, but I see my countrymen going out of their way to spread hate, especially in the name of religion. I so admire my enlightened Canadian neighbors and keep hoping some of your wisdom trickles south, especially in regard to equal treatment of GLBT citizens.
