MessageHi Thomas Johns. Thanks for posting in the guestbook and I have forwarded your posting on to Gil Oliver. He in turn, passed it on to a previous GAFB Flight Instructor named Hank Henry. So we will see what comes of it.

Maybe he will know and if anyone else has knowledge of this, please advise....................thanks, gary smilie

MessageI am looking for any information on anyone who was stationed at GAFB @1957-1958. I read a book as a kid called, "Jet Pilot" by Henry B. Lent, copyright 1958. The author followed an avation cadet named Dick Martin and others. Martin did his Primary Flight Tng. at GAFB. I am curious if this is a fictional character or if he and others referenced in the book are still around. I would love to contact them. Len Wilson, Brad Conway, Bob Knudson & Tony Carillo. Their Flt. Instr. was "Mickey Mouse", Lt. Ken Tyler and were in "Blue 9" squadron during their tng. Thank you for any assistance!! Tom

MessageI married a cadet from 59C. I pinned his wings and bars on at his graduation at GAFB. We married a couple of weeks later and just celebrated our 50th anniversary.
By the way, we loved the pool there and my husband lost his high school ring in the pool.
I recognize, I think, some of the people in the picture in front of the old Bass Jr/Sr High school. Does anyone know who they are? I'm class of '56.

MessageAwesome pictures of GAFB. I remember the classmates whose fathers were stationed there in the 50's + 60's. I visited the base in 2005 while in Greenville for a GHS class reunion. I graduated in 1965. Sarah

MessageThe one that grabs me the most is the picture of the marching band. Don't ask why, cause I couldn't answer, but it makes me feel like a junior high kid all voer again.
