| Message | I am crying so hard I can hardly write this, I knew that I always wanted a black cocker spaniel, so I posted an add in the local newspaper. Within a week I got a call from a lady that her "lot in life was to rescue stray dogs, and her son had found a black cocker running down a 4 lane highway with a heavy chain attatched to him. They was boarded and after seeing him we were happy to take him. We named him Joey. He had no hair on his broken tail, and had lumps everywhere. I took him to the vet with my young son 8, and he got his shots etc, and we took him home. Joey was so loved, hes been on vacation with us, and we have adored him for over 10 yrs. My husband walks him around the block every day. 3 years ago my hubby was making hot wings outside, carrying hot oil into the house, and Joey was beneath him, and the handle on the pot shattered dumping hot oil on Joeys head and he had 3rd degree burns on his head and back. Im a nurse and with lots of prayer and treatment, he survived. He is now bald, but he doesnt know it. It just gave me a perfect spot to kiss him. Joey is now 15, and was diagnosed with lymphoma over a year ago. He had chemo successfully and has been in remission but we missed one treatment in Dec 08 (Our dad died) and his cancer has come back with a vengeance. He has lost his appetite, and is pooping dark tarry stools. This we know is not good. We love Joey so much and know he cant live forever, but your prayers would be so very appreciated thank you so much, Deb |
