Breedblack cocker spaniel
StateOhio
Type of Canceracute canine lymphoma
MessageI am crying so hard I can hardly write this, I knew that I always wanted a black cocker spaniel, so I posted an add in the local newspaper. Within a week I got a call from a lady that her "lot in life was to rescue stray dogs, and her son had found a black cocker running down a 4 lane highway with a heavy chain attatched to him. They was boarded and after seeing him we were happy to take him. We named him Joey. He had no hair on his broken tail, and had lumps everywhere. I took him to the vet with my young son 8, and he got his shots etc, and we took him home. Joey was so loved, hes been on vacation with us, and we have adored him for over 10 yrs. My husband walks him around the block every day. 3 years ago my hubby was making hot wings outside, carrying hot oil into the house, and Joey was beneath him, and the handle on the pot shattered dumping hot oil on Joeys head and he had 3rd degree burns on his head and back. Im a nurse and with lots of prayer and treatment, he survived. He is now bald, but he doesnt know it. It just gave me a perfect spot to kiss him. Joey is now 15, and was diagnosed with lymphoma over a year ago. He had chemo successfully and has been in remission but we missed one treatment in Dec 08 (Our dad died) and his cancer has come back with a vengeance. He has lost his appetite, and is pooping dark tarry stools. This we know is not good. We love Joey so much and know he cant live forever, but your prayers would be so very appreciated thank you so much, Deb

His quality of life remains good. He is my constant companion. . .

BreedBelgian Tervuren

Type of Cancerhemangiosarcoma (spleen)
MessageWe are struggling with the treatment options for our lovely 13-year old Zack and would appreciate all prayers for his well-being and for our decisions. We have been through this before 15 years ago with an 11-year-old Tervuren and it was terribly painful physically and emotionally for both us and the dog. I know every situation is unique, but the news we received today is not good. We are looking back to what happened before and are very discouraged. Thank you for any and all prayers for God's comfort for Zack and for us, his loving family, as we seek to make good decisions.

Type of Cancerlung
MessageMy name is Ashley Taylor and my husband is Jeff. Overnight this past Tues. our dog, Buddy became sick. It came on so fast. He was diagnosed yesterday, Thurs. with lung cancer from our vet. It has spread all over his lungs, he has an enlarged heart and fluid in the lungs. He has never coughed nor has he shown any symptoms. He was extremely active even on Monday the day before he woke up sick. He is 8 years old and we adopted him at 3 months old from a local animal shelter. My husband and I have no children and he is like our child. He is so obedient and loyal. He is very loving and sweet. We are very sad and are shocked as to how he could have been perfectly fine one day and like a light switch be dying the next day. The vet says nothing can be done and we don't know if he has one day or one month. Please ad Buddy to your prayer list. We both know God has a special place for our pets. We will miss him terribly. Thank you for your prayers....
Sincerely,
Ashley Taylor
