| Message | My best friend Sampson was just diagnosed with the big C today. He is 11 years old, he has been with me for 8 of those years. Although this type of cancer is aggressive, he is feeling great. We found it on his leg and hope that it is not hiding undetected anywhere else. His blood work looks okay, but we're going to run some x-rays of his chest and abdomen to be sure. We'll know more next Wed. Chemo probably isn't an option, but radiation might be. We will look at our options after further investigation. More than anything we just want him to be happy. Whoever dropped Sampson off at the local shelter when he was 3 had no idea what they were going to be missing. I could have spent thousands of dollars for a pure bred champion, and would not have found a better friend, companion, or guardian. I was not even looking for a dog when I found him, but haven't regretting bringing him home for one single day. Keep my big guy in your thoughts and prayers. I am so glad to have found this site... Sampson and I will be sending good thoughts to all of the dogs mentioned here. |

| Message | Sammy is now approx. 10 years old, and was given to me 5 years ago, to 'dog-sit' by my ex-boss. She decided never to reclaim him. It was the best thing she ever did. Sammy changed our lives for the better, becoming the 5th member of our pet family :) Two days ago, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma and his doctor does not belive that he will do well with chemo, nor do we. We want what's best for Sammy. Last night I took him home, said a prayer, and he slept in my bedroom, helpless. We started him on Pred., and they say it takes away the pain, but after watching Sammy untill 4am this morning, I believe that nothing can take away his pain, but a miracle.. Today he ate a small meal... I started praying the day I started talking, and has never stopped! All I want is for Sammy to smile again, and for the Lord to bless him with comfort as he gets closer to his time... "May we all have our prayers answered, for the sake of our loved ones, our pets, our best friends.. Amen" |

| Message | My boy Apollo was diagnosed with lymphoma this past Wednesday. He had his 11th birthday on Friday. Our vet does not feel that he would do well with chemotherapy, so we are giving him Prednisone treatment and keeping him comfortable. He had stopped eating, but has started up again with some help of some dietary changes. He still has playful moments - he wanted to play fetch in the backyard last night, but his energy is way down and his breathing is labored. He has been my best friend since he was eight weeks old, and I can't imagine what life is going to be like without him. I keep wishing that there was more I could do for him. |

| Message | As Nicholai enters his fifteenth month since diagnosis, he still eats, loves, hikes, and I pray. This is my third prayer request and it seems to be working. With alternative care - herbs, supplements, and a natural diet - he is not in remission, but is going strong. He teaches me to take it one day at a time, living fully in the moment without a care for how many days he has left. I wish the best to each person and dog represented on this list.
