MessageJust wanted to say that I have only just discovered this site and was very sad to hear Zal has retired. I discovered SAHB as a 15 year old when I saw them in Sheffield and became addicted. I bought every SAHB album but sadly never got to see them perform live again as soon after Alex tragically left us. I got the SAHB without Alex album, but after that thought the band had simply stopped (no internet in those days !)
I was amazed and delighted to hear that they were still alive and kicking a few years ago and saw them play a terrific set in Sheffield a couple of years ago, bringing back some fantastic memories.
Thanks for all the music and great memories and being a part of my life

John

MessageHi SAHB's, well, i really like you music. I know alex harvey when I was thirteen years old, now im 21, and here in mexico so many people knows about the legendary alex harvey band, however I meet the band cause the cure covered the faith healer.
Sorry, my english is so deficient, but i only want to tell this:
es una verdadera lastima que aqui en mexico sea
casi imposible conseguir su musica en general, solo por otros medios, como youtube, o descargas en internet posibilitan conseguirla. pero más alla de lamentos quiero felicitarlos por la trayectoria que han tenido, me sorprende y me alegra ver que Vambo sigue reinando, sigue rockeando, en ocasiones agito mi cabeza mientras escucho last of the teenenge idols, or my favourite, boston tea party. SAHB still on the rock pantheon, the place were rest the betters groups on the rock history. whith this I dont want to tell that SAHB is an extint band, on the contrary, SAHB stay on a inamovible place, the place of the greatest, the place of Alex Harvey and his sensational tear band build.
that says upside is on the correct, vambo still rules, we have a "mexicanism" similar to "rules" mean and this is:
¡¡¡VAMBO RIFA!!!

MessageFirst saw S.A.H.B at Parkhead. They are still the most amazing live show. Took my son to see SAHB last year at the abc in Glasgow. It was his first gig, and I thought that it was fitting, as SAHB in 76 was my first gig. Looking forward to the liquid rooms this christmas in Edinburgh.

MessageI was privileged to have seen SAHB a couple of times during the 70s, in Edinburgh and Glasgow.I think they may have been supported by Nazareth on one of the tours. It was the era of 'Vambo rools' being sprayed onto a fake wall on stage by a striped shirt Alex, and a magnificently grimacing, be-clowned Zal pumping the licks from his cherry red gibson SG. They had a fantastic rhythm section and guitar and keys worked well together. Live, they were unbeatable...
Although for me Next was their best album (still listen to it and love it), I think it and Framed are two of the best rock'n'roll albums ever made. The last time I saw SAHB live was on the bandstand in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow in the early 90s, I think...
Alex Harvey RIP, long gone but never forgotten!

MessageHave been a big fan since I first saw Alex and Tear Gas one Saturday morning at the "Burns Howff" Glasgow. Lost count of the SAHB gigs I was at. Don't live in Glasgow anymore so last gig I saw was at Islington, London. Think that was about the last gig with Zal. Anyway to the point. Classic Rock magazine informed us that an unreleased album was due in the shops in October. On checking with my local shop they informed me that it wasn't due for release until March 2009. Can you shed any light.Regards Jamie.
