MessageHi Tony. I also saw Mick Ryan and his production of the Navvies Wife, with Paul Downes, Jackie Oates etc - wonderful.

MessageIt's Broadstairs Folk Week again, and for me every year there's a performance by someone I've not seen before, who then becomes a favourite for life, and sends me scurrying through the back catalogue. Last night it was Mick Ryan (with Paul Downs). Wonderful singer, great songs.
Any chance of a FITB booking in the future ?
Folk Week (for me) so far - Eric Bogle was of course brilliant, and I loved Anteaters (the surviving members of Penguin Cafe Orchestra doing a great set of PCO music).
Looking forward to the rest of the week, and of course the upcoming FITB program.

MessageHi Debs,

Sorry to get this note off so late.....It was great meeting you at the Turin Brakes concert and many thanks for allowing us to pay the day of the show! As expected, Turin Brakes and Kate Walsh were fantastic. I can't think of anything more pleasureable than spending an evening with others who enjoy their music as much as we do. Although we came all the way from Texas (home state of the dreaded George Bush), everyone made us feel at home. In fact, not only did I love the music, but I made a new friend with that Kent beer. By the time the evening was over, the girls at the beer table and myself were old friends! smilie They need to export that beer to the states.........Anyhow, it was a night my wife and I will never forget. Thanks again to you and all the others for your hospitality and we hope to see you again in the future!

MessageAh bless you Stefan! I know how you feel, it was wonderful wasn't it. Thanks to everyone that came from far and wide (and near) and to everyone that helped make it possible, not least Kate, Eddie, Olly and Gale, for gracing us with their talents. Many more magical gigs to come in that lovely venue - keep coming, keep it happening.

MessageGlad I travelled all this way to see Turin Brakes and Kate Walsh in such a wonderful venue. The mood was just perfect and the evening full of nice surprises. Kate played a perfect set, her voice is really good and her songs spellbinding if you pay enough attention - and you should!
Turin Brakes made the night perfect with an amazing set. The acoustics of the venue were demonstrated during the PA-less rendition of 'New Star'. Gale's guitar playing was perfect and the in-between banter was quite funny as well. After the thank you's near the end, I felt like we should all have gathered in one big group hug. It was a perfect evening. Thank you for organising it!

MessageDebs and Alister, well done on getting Turin Brakes down to Canterbury. They played such a polished set and the new stuff is really promising.
Kate Walsh has a very mesmirising voice.

MessageKitty and myself saw the Kate Walsh/Turin Brakes concert on Saturday and had a wonderful time.
Great music and great venue. Magical!
Alastair-Check out Jim Westbrook at theguitarmuseum. He's more into classical guitars but he'd be a useful contact for you.
Cheers

MessageDebs & Alistair. Many congratulations for another great concert!
These 'rare treats' are becoming a welcome regular occurence. Going to see artists we have grown up with is always a pleasure, but last night was a whole new pleasure for us. Sometimes not knowing artists such as last nights TB/KW concert can be equally good or even better.
We were emmersed in the most passionate original new songs which were flawlessly and sensitively delivered. A thoroughly well earned standing ovation to all conerned.
