MessageMr. Aronofsky, I came to your website in order to find the commentary for The fountain. I click on the link, but firefox keeps telling me there is an error. Could you please check it out? I'd really like to enjoy the director's commentary on one of my favorite movies.

Thank you very much for your work.

Pau

MessageQuestion; which one of your films is your favorite? My favorite is "The FOUNTAIN", but it doesn't seem so high rated. It's got 7.4 in imdb. Even in your interviews when they show your movies they don't even show The Fountain. Is that because they think that film is killing the "AMERICAN DREAM"? Is that because it reminds people of the death? I don't even know if you'll ever read this but if you do, PLEASE respond cause I don't get it, it's driving me crazy.

MessageHi,
I won't frame sentences to say my admiration, appreciation etc. Yes, this is a good story, yes Mrs. Portman is fabulous... But what are you thinking while shooting the film with Canon DS bla bla or some garbage like that? When I went to cinema, I only saw, good story, good actors and actresses but muddy, soup-like pictures with awful digitalized noise effects. We can't even see the actors faces or attitudes when they are far from the camera. You are, of course, a good director. You don't need a word from a person like me to know that, of course... But i can say that you passed up an oportunity to have a-state-of-the-art film by doing that. Because this is only a TV film. You made that.

Of course nobody cares about the things like that nowadays. Because nobody is aware of what the picture quality is in a digital world like that. But don't you feel indisposed when you see a picture? Did Brannagh, Scott, Wyler or Kurosawa make mistakes when they shot with 65 mm films? Or do I feel wrong when I see these pictures in big theaters and stunned by the picturesque frames? Or do your actors and actresses deserve to see their beautiful performances in a muddy-like picture instead of 35 or 65 mm film's glamorous frames?

Sorry for my English and I hope you'll read that.

MessageDear Mr. Aronofsky, I was so disappointing last night when you did not get the Oscar for best director. I know that the Academy were favoring The King's Speach and The Social Network, but I was hoping that they would give you the recognition you deserve.
Keep up the good work, and congratulations on Ms. Portman's win, as part of her excellent performance belong to your genius vision.
Looking forward to your next project and hope that you will keep on directing and producing Genre films that tackle the complexities of human nature.
Good luck and all the best! :-)
