MessageOH How I miss The Wrestler crew!! You guys were all so much fun to work with, it was a real honor and pleasure being a part of this film. I have many, many fond memories of the whole process from the first meeting on to the wrap party. I am so immensely eager to see the finished product, everyone worked so hard on it, from the actors to every member of the crew. I have complete faith in you, and I know The Wrestler is going to be absolutely amazing. I can't wait for the premiere!!! More just to see everyone again than anything else =)

Darren, you are a wonderful person. Thanks for making it so much fun from beginning to end. MUCH love,

Vale, the Pharmacist =)

MessageHello, I just wanted to say thank you for setting up this website and continuing to make some of the best, most important and challenging films of our time whether the mainstream filmgoing public is ready to recognize it or not. I remember seeing 'Pi' at midnight on a VHS rental and was instantly a fan of director Darren Aronofsky. When 'Requiem' came out, I knew little of the plot or content, only that it was an Aronofsky picture and that was enough to peak my interest. Both 'Requiem for a Dream' and 'The Fountain' were seminal theatrical film experiences for me, and I made sure to drag as many friends and relatives to 'The Fountain' as I could before it left theaters.

For some reason, the 'Fountain' commentary isn't working and I was unable to download it. Also, will there be a DVD of your early work such as shorts and student projects? Though you're in a different league now as a director, it would still be fascinating to see how you began and found your style before going on to make 'The Fountain'. Anyway, thank you once again for being a great filmmaker. With the film industry being the commercial moneymaking machine devoid of inspiration or innovation that it is, it's a breath of fresh air knowing that there are a small select group of directors like you who remind me why I still go to the movies today. Thank you once again and please continue making great films for the ongoing generations of moviegoers to come.

MessageDear Mr Aronofsky,
Just wanted drop a quick note about how much I admire your movies! I have never seen any film director who dare make movies about subjects, meaning of which can only be understood in a 'glimpse-after-glimpse' fashion and it takes years studying and meditating to form a more or less consistent perception of those. Yet it is entertaining. You belong to the industry that creates illusions, but ones that you create are sometimes more real than the reality itself (in a form that most of us are able to perceive). Considering the fact that you do make progress with every next movie of yours at least in terms of difficulty of the subject your attempt to cover, I assume you can get a valuable critique from someone (or from yourself). I’m saying this because unfortunately all ‘The Fountain’ reviews I’ve come across normally boil down to either ‘brilliant’ or ‘crap’. Again, please accept my sincere admiration.

MessageDarren Aronofsky is one the best "gen x" Directors of all. His movies seem like HALLUCINATIONS without having to take the drugs.

MessageRequiem for a Dream is my favorite movie! I love watching it with people who have never heard of it before. My boyfriend was actually a little upset with me after I made him watch it :) He's a sensitive soul and had to watch episodes of Family Guy and American Dad before he felt comfortable enough to go to sleep.

That's what I love about it-it sticks with you! Thank you so much for bringing the world that film!!

~Cicely
