Message | I am boycotting the 2008 Olympics in support of the Burmese people's struggle for democracy.
That said, I empathize with China.
I am half Chinese. China is a country which just wants to catch up with the rest of the superpowers in the world. China asks the fair question, "Why can't we tromp all over human rights since the U.S.A, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, even Canada have in their journey to modern affluence?" Isn't that a double-standard? Isn't that being a hypocrite? Isn't that inhumane.
What can I say? Yes. All our hands are stained with blood. Ours is a bloody history. We humans have had a painful growth.
But, we strive to be better. In that spirit, people who care, are telling China this, "If you invite the World to play, we think, you have to take responsibility for what is happening in the world."
ah. poor humanity... how we suffer.
