| Message | My name is Audrey and I am the daughter of Steve DeRoche. Steve passed away in 2004 and among his affects were pictures and paperwork from his navy days. I don't really understand what all the patches mean, but according to his paperwork, he seemed to serve on the USS Randolph for the majority of the time between 1958-1964. He also served on Helantisubron 7 (don't know what that is). I'm just reaching out here to acknoledge his service and the service of others on this ship. I've been reading the history of the USS Randolph and it's very interesting to know my father was a special part of history. |

| Message | It was my great pleasure to serve aboard the Randolph. I was a Hospital Corpsman First Class E-6 when I arrived on board the summer of 67. I was commissioned to 0-1 Ensign on the 1st day of October 1967 on board the Randolph. I arrived in Danang RVN on 7 Dec 1967 to serve with the 1st MAW. My time was short but I loved the feel of the ship and crew. |

| Message | Leo. A father of a friend of mine was killed in a crash 1962. His Mother threw out all of DADs USN stuff. If you could copy any thing about the Officers and planes of VF-73 and any photo's of the planes that landed on the FDR by mistake (they came back ALL painted up with Grafydie) I was a plane captain on the FDR during the 57/58 cruise. |

| Message | Served aboard the Randolph from Nov 57 till Mar 1960 in V1 Div crew 3 and OA div after i made AG3..I loved every minute of the time although i'm sure time has made it even better. i noticed that Richard Spacier AN was never mentioned.. he was killed when he walked into a prop on a AD on our last respot of the flight deck before we entered Palma de Majorca to spend christmas of 57.. Richard was in Crew 6 but we shared crew shelters just aft of the starboard elevator. nothing was mentioned of losing catwalk on the forward port side chasing a russian sub in the north Atlantic after coverting to a CVS.. I still have my 57/58 Med cruise book if anyone needs coppies of some of the pics. I just found this web site.. Great work guys. Leo M. Swanson |

| Message | My Father Mr. James T. Manant Proudly Served On The Randolph From 1953-1955 Along With Some Short Stints On Three Other Carriers, The Kearsarge,The Phillipian Sea And The Forestal. He Was An Am3 On The Randolph He Was A Hydralics Specialist Working With Planes and Jets. Anyone Who Remembers My Dad Please Get In Touch With Me Please. My Dad Was From Carnegie Pa. Just Southwest Of Pittsburgh Pa. He Told Me Lots Of Stories About The Ship And All The Friends He Had On Board. He Was An Exceptional Card Player And My Mother Told Me Of How He Won Such A Phenominal Amount Of Money Playing Poker On Board That He Sent It Home To Her For When He Got Out And They Got Married It Actually Paid For All 5 Rooms Of Furniture. If You Were A Card Player And Remember Playing With My Father Please Get In Touch With Me Please I Would Really Like To Hear From You. |
