MessageBelieve me, I'm happy to be in the pool, and I was prepared to enter with long term goals in mind.

Top 3 Highlights from tonight:
1.)Toews goal... you have to see this one.
2.)Visnovsky's slap pass to Frolov... that was sick.
3.)Crosby's shootout goal.

P.S. Spacek's injured now... so that ends that.

MessageNo expansion process is perfect, as all come with challenges. To clarify Phil, the expansion committee at that time approached me about giving me the option of folding my team and joining with Dan in having a joint second expansion or keeping my team as is together. I chose to dismantle all of my original assets for the new expansion process that was being proposed. I placed a lot of risk in going head to head with a savy pool presence in Dan, but I was no less up to the challenge. I am currently in year 4 of a 5 year plan to producing a consistent contender, and my track record shows a steady prgression of development. Time will tell how your strategy fairs, and I look forward to the next few years of your evolution Mr. Philli.

MessageAnyone else concerned with The Brokeback Ballscratchers progress in the last couple of days? What's GM Roy B'ahrain putting in Langkow's water?

MessageGoon, my expansion process rant was in response to

A: You laughing at my team in last, when really your team is the laughable one considering you've been in this pool for 3 yrs, you've already had a "redo" after your first blunder, and your team is MILES behind Dan's who entered with you. Also take into account that you and Dan had a much more favourable expansion process than I had offered to me.

B: Kernel's defence of the expansion process.

As I ended my rant, I love this pool and I won't be dispersing my team. I'm sorry you feel it was a mistake letting me in but I'm assuming that's just you speaking out of fear from the addition of another GM who will mop the pool floor with your lack of fantasy strategy.

I play poker for a living, I've seen a lot of guys who get crushed at poker and then challenge people to street fights to try and compensate for their embarrasing poker play... it seems the same translates into this hockey pool world... trying to fashion your hockey pool antics after the obsolete practices of Don Cherry... you're a good canadian kid... but you're out of your league... maybe you should start an FHL farm fantasy league smilie cause you're not fit for the big leagues.

Anyways to finish up I'll add, none of my banter is ever personal and I love you all as individuals. But Hockey Pools are war! smilie

MessageI've never seen so much moaning from an expansion GM. Both Dan and myself imbraced the challenge (myself twice) and we have both build solid teams in 3 years or less without a single banter complaining about the process. Just give us the word and we'll hold a dispersal draft of your assets and move on from this obvious mistake.

Messagethis idea that i emerged out of expansion 'unscathed' has a few layers to it.. some assessments are erroneous on different levels.. erroneous i say! a little bit of truth in some aspects, but hardly blameable on the Phillies..

Round 3) A handy little rule that allows any team to give up a first rounder in the draft instead of losing a 2nd forward benefited me more than any other team because of my young forward depth and 3 first rounders I had accumulated (#8 overall from the Blazers made a perfect fit, acquired in the Savard deal).

Round 2) Having the 'shallowest' D talent pool at THREE ROSTER WORTHY DEFENSEMEN meant I lost Steve Eminger to the Phillies. smilie

Round 1) A costly error by exposing Daniel Briere in a pre-expansion list submission for the purpose of initiating trade talks had potentially horrific consequences mitigated by a favourable trade pulled off by the Phillies.

I went into the draft having spent a couple years acquiring 8 picks. I spent 5 of them (3 to Phil) to improve my team outside the draft.

So I didn't lose great players, but did give up some good picks, an inventory of which no other GM in the league could compete with at the time.

If you breakdown the Briere trade this way:
-Briere for #3(Roy, then Kane) and 0809 first
-Schneider for Kessel
-0809 Prospect for Poti

My expansion net loss is: three first rounders and Eminger.

Phil's gain to date is: Kane, Bernier, Eminger and one first rounder
