MessageGreetings, Dr. Don L. Collins,
Thanks for your replying. Currently I have two choirs. One is for adolescents and their ages are between 13 and 14. All of the members in the choir are girls. including Sop. 1 15~16 persons, Sop. 2, 20~24 persons and Sop. 3 24 persons. The team members are totally 60 persons. The level of the members is good. They are good at music theory and their voices are great. I am looking for the music that is suitable for the music contest. Using the obvious contrast of music highlights female 3 in the choir. Secular music is closer what
I need.

MessageI am interested in getting some new music that may be more appropriate for the grade and skill level that I work with. I recently got a job teaching middle school choir and the program needs some work. I want to start basically from scratch with some music that is fun to sing but easily within their range. I only have 3 boys in the entire program so I mainly work with girls.
Thanks,
Ben

MessageTo whom it may concern;

I actually teach at an American school overseas (in Tunisia). My HS Choir is fairly well balanced (although I still tend to use quite a bit of SAB music) but my MS Choir has a multitude of boys with varying voice ranges...soprano, alto, and changed (baritone). I adjust almost every piece of music we learn to accommodate the five groups: girl sopranos, boy sopranos (they often sing a second soprano part), girl altos, boy altos and baritones. It can be quite exhausting, but very rewarding when the boys are encouraged to keep singing!

Thanks for any repertoire suggestions you can offer me!
