| Message | Like many Grand Bankers, I am looking forward to being "Home" for "Come Home Year 2007." It doesn't matter how long I've been away from Grand Bank, my heart is always in the place of my birth. I proudly tell everyone I can of my Grand Bank heritage and the strong, courageous people who have been part of my life. I salute the Committee for the planning and I am certain the Mariner's Memorial will not only honor the brave men who "went down to the sea in ships" but will focus attention on the strength of their families and people of Grand Bank. My feeling is that Grand Bankers never accept defeat, despite tragedy, they move forward to a future of hope. |

| Message | As a member of the Come Home Year 2007 "Events" committee, I would like to welcome all to this new site. It's off to a great start and the site will have added features and new information over the next month or so and right up to the summer of '07. For those at home and away, take to time to post your comments, especially what events you would like to see or to participate in. We know the unveiling and dedication of the Mariners' Memorial will be the highlight, so reserve Wednesday, August 8, for that event. The rest of Newfoundland will be looking at us.
