MessageHello,
I was in Grand bank in 1985 for about 3 weeks to set up the Stedmans store, I stayed at Grannys motel, and did a lot of dancing and drinking, and eating of Flo,s fine food (and maybe chased a few of your girls). While setting up the Stedmans store I met a bunch of great people, they invited me to their homes for meals and made me very welcome. I checked out all the great places to see there and have never forgotten any of it.
I have 9 pictures of the people who owned the Stedmans store and helped set it up, so if you would like me to sent you a set just email me.
I now wish I had spent more time there and taken more pictures.
So thank you grand Bank for the memories.
Ron

MessageIt was great to read messages that individuals have left on the guestbook.Great to find out where some former students are today. I read where one person -who sign the guestbook went to school with back in the 60,s and never knew where he was until now.
The come home year was a great success and many thanks to George Cooper and his committee

MessageI'm dissapointed that the nonsense of Byron Prior and his smear campaign against the young Grand Bankers like myself who weren't around during the alleged incidents regarding his family, is able to spew his obsession into this forum. I hope the webmaster or someone can get rid of it, and then get rid of this message as any mention of his name is too much really.

MessageCongratulations to everyone involved in "Come Home Year 2007" and the Unveiling of the Mariners
Memorial. It was a humbling experience to be invited to be part of such an historic event in Grand Bank, the best hometown in Canada.
My thanks to everyone who supported and purchased a copy of my book, "Tales from the Landwash".
Thanks for your warmth, your kindness, for being what never changes, the best people to know.
My pride in being a Grand Banker has grown even more as the result of my latest visit "home".
Now let's all work to make it a World Heritage Site - Grand Bank deserves nothing less.

MessageWas home for the unveiling of the Mariners memorial. Very moving and touching ceremony. It will be great to expand on the memorial with lights etc. Often wondered why the politicians of the town do no try to get the waterfront from the bridge to the thorndyke and main street to the war memorial declared an historic site. that would help to obtain money from Government for refurbishment and upkeep. Also the harbour needs a schooner and a few dories with the old make and break engine for tourists to see, Our town is to fishing the same as Lunenberg NS and Gloucester USA
