MessageHello again fellow Yamato H.S. Warriors. It just dawned on me that Tim LaPoint was on the Varsity Football Team, not that the JV Football Team. He helped me so much with info it felt like we were on the same team. Guess I'm slipping a little bit @ 64 years of age. Sorry, Tim.

MessageWould like to post this message for all Warriors that attended Yamato H.S. I attended the 62/63 school year. I had many good friends from, Freshmen, like me, to Seniors, like NAZRAT Carmen. I played? on the JV Football Team. I had the Warrior Spirit but little else, being 4'6" and 85 lbs. Coach Brunner was a swell guy to help me learn the game of football. A team mate by the name of Steve Holland was really cool , as we both had uniforms with the #10, shortage I guess. Steve never complained or made fun of me for not representing our #10 very well when I played on the field. Another fine young man I had the pleasure of knowing, was Tim LaPointe. I think we shared another class together, but I don't remember what it was. I knew I didn't hold a candle to these athletic guys, but Tim never let that get in the way of his kindness. I could ask him anything about Football and he would patiently explain. Oh sure, there was kidding about my inabilities; and most of the team was very accepting, but Tim and Steve's sharing of team camaraderie and help allowed me to continue playing, even though I had little talent. What a couple of Great guys! I learned from them to never give up, even when the odds are totally against you. I have lived my life passing that on to others. I went to Chofu High School the 63/64 and the rotated home the next summer. After 48 years I just wanted to let everybody that reads this to know how Blessed I am to have associated with some Great Yamato Warriors!

MessageVonnie,
Wow!!! This is such a great job and I thank you for doing this for all of us. I know you spent so many hours to mnake this and to get to know everybody at the mini-reunion. I wish I could share this story with all my friends from high school including people that graduated from Narimasu, Yokota and Johnson. Thank you for putting all this together for us to enjoy.

Your blog is sooo impressive. I am such a novice at this stuff.
Seeing your grandparents brought tears to my eyes that I had a hard time reading. ...I remember your Uncle Steve as the most handsome man I ever saw....As for Anthony, he was your cute little brother....a pest...but cute! smilie
