| Message | From the George Wilson Briggs line. My great grandmother Edna Briggs (married to George Leaver Briggs) did quite a bit of geneology and I have all of her records. Her records show John Briggs Father as William Briggs "came froma a quaker family" d. Jamestown, Chautauzua Co, NY. Children listed in order: John b. 20 Mar 1811, william, Henry, Zethaniah, Dorcas, Lucinda, & Phebe Ann. John Calhoun Briggs listed as having 8 children: Miranda, Benjamin Franklin "Frank", Lorenzo, George Wilson,Perley Fairbanks, Sophia Jane "Jennie", Phoebe Louise, & Walter John. I also have letters from George Wilson to Phoebe during the Cival War. Hope that helps someone.  |

| Message | I just found out that my Tabitha Briggs Myers father was John Briggs and her mothers last name was Starker. I think they were from the Schnectdny area in New York...would love to find out more about this side of the family. Tabitha was born around 1814 in NY. Thanks. |

| Message | My great grandfather was George Briggs, supposedly born in Maine in 1842 but who also might have been the George W. Briggs born in Lyman, Grafton, New Hampshire to Oliver Briggs. He was a cattle dealer in Utah Territory in 1880 and is believed to have died in Denver, Colorado in 1908. If anyone has information about what became of the Lyman, NH, George W. Briggs, I would greatly appreciate it. |
