Message | I am a descendent of Sarah Briggs Lovejoy...she is my brickwall. I have her listed on many things as Sarah Briggs (born in salem Massachusetts in 1778/1779). Parents listed on one thing as Edward and Hannah but on everything else her parents are listed as Thomas J and Hannah. She married Lovejoy in 1805. According to documents, 2 of their kids were born in 1801 and 1803. This is leading me to think that Sarah wasn't born a Briggs but in fact had married one before she married Lovejoy. Her daughters born before she married Lovejoy are also listed in census records with the last name Lovejoy but her oldest daughter is listed on some things as Clarissa Briggs Lovejoy (before getting married to a carlton). I can find nothing on Sarah before she married Lovejoy. I even contacted the Andover Massachusetts historical society (where they married). They have nothing. [email protected] |
