MessageIf any one would like a copy of the Order Of Service from Brian Keelings funeral I would email them one. It would only be a scanned copy, but it's something to remember him with. [email protected]

MessageI went to Brian Keelings funeral yesterday, the must have been 400 there, the church was full. I bet the vicar would like those kind of numbers every Sunday morning. There were a load of familiar faces whom I could not put a name to, with an extra 4-5 stone and grey hair people can be difficult to remember. I saw some blokes looking at me with the same puzzled look I was giving them. A happy thought of Brian was one day in Belfast 1973, when Maj Porter-Wright had fallen asleep again in the office at the old police station on Leopold Street and the best bit was he was balanced on a pencil, one end on the desk and the other on his chin. Brain flicked it out. The Major woke up of course when his chin hit the desk with a bang. R.I.P. Brian.

MessageHi Adam

We never had ear defenders that were compulsory although the 'Tanks' had them. Having got blown a few feet by a bomb in Belfast '73' there was damage to my ears, also firing the 'Charlie G' didn't help. I received a few bob compensation. I cannot remember whether it is the War Pensions or The Veterans assoc that you contact, but it's worth a go. Even if your hearing loss is only 1-5% you may be entitled to £1500.

Regards
Steve
