MessagePicked this up on the ex-Airborne Forces Website Re: Steve Bradley who many of us know from the Battalion through the 70's-80s. See below from Smokey Smith's post on that site...

Met Steves lass in the supermarket an hour ago, Steve was mostly in 3 Para, but also served in Palace Bks as the accom CSgt with both 1 & 2 Para, he has had cancer of the pancreas since Christmas, they found a tumour there & said it was inoperable, he has had chemo & starts radiotherapy next week, the docs have said the treatment will hopefully give him another couple of years but they are both resigned to him not being around much longer than that.

They have a bath in the bathroom & they had asked the RBL to take it out & put a shower as he cant sit down for too long, the RBL refered her to the local council!!

Jonah would SSAFA be of any help in this, he is living in Bradford, if you think they may be of help let me know & I'll let them know who to get in comms with.

I said I'd like to visit him but she said to leave it another week or so, so will give a sitrep from then.

I have his tel no if any mucker wants it.

End of post....

Dont know if any of you lads are in touch with Steve but im sure he would appreciate a visit from anyone living local to Bradford and Smokey will pass Steves phone number on if requested.

MessageJust had a call from Brian (Smudge) Smith, Signal platoon in the 70's.
He has just had the call to attend Papworth Hospital. Major surgery, double lung transplant. I will speak to June and try and get the address and post it. Prehaps some cards may brighten his time in there.
Thoughts are with you Brian and all your family.
Best wishes.
John
