MessageI have been told I have Chronic Lymphacytic Leukemia. I recently saw a An Allergist, asthma & Immunology Managment Specialist and was told to purchase a "Low IGA" bracelet so that whenever I should get transfusion, I would not react with
"Naphylactic reaction.

I have not had a bone marrow nor want to receive pharmaceutical treatment.

I also suffer from an IgA deficiency and it usually manifests itself in serious, prolonged upper respiratory infections. I've never been formally diagnosed with pneumonia, but I believe that is due to the fact that my pulmonologist discovered that my lungs are 10% larger than the average. Thus, they don't fill entirely up..., but they get extremely infected.

I guess it just did my heart some good to read about someone else's experiences with this illness as I, like you, know no one else with the disease.
