Message | When I worked at the same place with Sensei Kosugi in the early 70's, he radiated confidence, kindness, and thoughtfulness to his coworkers. I remember watching him in Las Vegas at the '74 four season national championship in the kumite event. In the final match, he was outpointing his opponent(in '74 contact to the face was illegal) when out of frustration his opponent did an illegal turn around elbow attack squarely on Sensei Kosugi's face. I believe it knock one of his tooth out with blood bleeding profusely out of his mouth. The referee stepped in and asked him if he was ok. Sensei Kosugi spat the tooth & blood on the mat, said he was ok, and continued attacking with his long reached front kicks and won the match. My hat is off to Sensei Sho Kosugi. |
