MessageIsn't that funny (about the black moms). I've experienced similar things, but I've also had many black female friends. I've had them totally be rude to me and then Tom will come up and they turn on the charm for him. I would almost bet it was because of his Hawaiian looks, he doesn't look white. I've met a good many white racist people, but I've met even more racist black people. So, yeah, I hear ya!

I believe a lot of people did vote for him because of his skin colo, but at the same time I understand WHY they did it. I think, and this is just my opinion, that black people have been through many horrible things in our country and though we've come so far, we don't truly know how they feel to always be under a white person's hand. I think they felt like someone could finally speak from THEIR perspective because let's face it, we will never know what it feels like to be black or any other color.

That's why I always say it's best to be open, even if you don't agree with something. Because who knows where that person is coming from and we should all be able to live our lives (as long as it doesn't HURT anyone) the way we believe is morally correct. smilie

Messagehey, I so agree with the Christians should act like Christians!! If they only knew how they actually hurt people from coming to know Him personally. Jesus went to everyone, beggars, harlots, drunkards, etc. etc. He was no respector of persons. If only we would really act the way that Jesus did then we wouldn't have such divisions!!! I could go on and on (LEGALISM) Sorry

MessageQuite agree with you on that last blog entry. I see the same attitude amongst "Christians" regarding the evolutionary theorists. It boggles my mind why they are so antagonistic to people that disagree with their view of life. I believe God created us all with the ability to choose and we might not necessarily agree with each others choices. It does not make a person less God's creation just because they choose differently. Well spoken (I guess written would more aptly apply here) though smilie.

MessageI am praying that Obama will have a life changing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ and give his heart to God, if he has not already.

MessageI agree with you Petra, regarding the thoughts and comments on Obama. I am disappointed, disgusted and scared that he is our next president, but none the less, that is what he is. To wish him harm is not the attitude that we are to have as Christians, or Americans. We are to pray for him, to pray that God will be allowed to use him. The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord, and I think that God can handle the job better than I can!!

Messagelol Petra...

I'm with you Gina, it sickens me when I see some people who "claim" to be Christians, when they obviously are not...

Be ye kind, one to another... Love thy neighbor as thyself... etc, etc... Too bad more people don't adhere to those principles, no matter their beliefs...

MessageToo true Matt. Of course, most people who talk like that aren't interested in obeying the law either, and yeah - they probably don't even know it is a felony because they are so ignorant already. They completely ignore entire books of the Bible, I think. And apparently have never read Romans chapter 13.

Thank you Gina. It is so sad.

There really is so much separation in our Nation, and some of that is to be expected, obviously - as we have different views - but I really think we need to dispense of the hatred from every side. I have another friend, who was at a McCain rally, who came outside to people yelling "f... you, mccain bit(*(s". Nice. (of course, as far as I know, those guys weren't saying "we're Christians" at the same time - lol!).

MessageI too, was humbled by his speech (McCain's) and I agree whole heartedly that the time to come together is now.

There are not enough people like you out there Petra. And you are right, it's those types that can turn people off to religion or God in general. Very sad!

MessageYeah, wow! I've heard stuff similar myself today, and I always just think to myself, "Perhaps someone will report those idiots to the Secret Service"... Of course of LOT of people like that, claim to be "Christians" yet spout stuff like that, are probably not aware that it is now a felony to say such things about Obama... Idiots.
