| Message | Hi Charmaine, Not ALL Hawaiians name their children with long names. However, the ones that do, shorten it. My nephew is named some extremely long name, but everyone calls him Ho'omalu because to say his full name would be tiring My daughter's name is Kailea (Kay-lee-uh), but we spelled it Hawaiian, which would be pronounced (K-eye-lay-uh). |

| Message | Charmaine - Andy had brought that up when we were talking about names the other day. I said "If we have a boy, then we canNOT use J again. He was like "we have to" - ha. We actually didn't do the J/Y thing on purpose - it's completely coincidence. Jarvis was going to be Ethan until he was born on your Grandpa Jarvis' birthday. (and then of course Ethan was taken by someone else) ![]() Andy brought up the Brittany, Darby, Aubrey thing too. He also likes Cassie (which sounds like it ends in y), but I don't love that name and have removed it from my list. |

| Message | Omgosh Emily. No offense was taken at all. I was chuckling the entire time. Their thing in Hawaii, I swear, is to see who can name their baby the longest name. Can you imagine trying to learn how to spell your name of 32 characters??? And that's just their first name. Those Hawaiians are very psychoish, lol. I think I just got lucky and got a more milder one Please, don't even worry about it. I swear I didn't take offense at all. Thanks for the thought though Gina |

| Message | Gina--Please forgive the Hawaiian remark. I had heard on the news a few months back that a couple that lived in Hawaii had named their child Talullah..etc. The judge had ordered them to change it. It wasn't intended at all as snarky, just a lame reference to some old news with a silly name to boot. Again, my apologies. |
