MessageI agree. The amount of spending that goes on is ridiculous - and really, the WAY the spending goes on is even worse.

There are a few things that concern me about the next four years with the Dems in control of everything, but ultimately, God is in control so I'm not 'worried' so to speak. The military didn't fare so well under Clinton, so I'm curious to see what happens under Obama. Hopefully he doesn't take away more of our housing allowance the way Clinton did!

MessageMyself, I think the GOP has failed on so many levels you can hardly make it up... They used to stand for conservative ideals, limited government and less spending, since they took power in 1994 though, they have pretty much tossed all that out the window. I do realize that Bush is not, nor ever was, a conservative, but during his time at the helm, the size of government doubled, spending doubled, and let's not even talk about the deficit... Then, as you say, wow! McCain?? Yeah, okay... The GOP needs to reinvent itself, go back to its roots, and start over, otherwise, how can you tell the difference between the two? you can't... Should be interesting...

MessageObama won, and yet the sun still shines, and God is still sovereign. I agree that we should all pray for our nation and its leaders.

MessageAnother thing that makes me say "wow" - Washington voters said "yes" to doctor-assisted suicide. I've got to get back to the 'bible belt south'!!!!! lol!!! smilie

MessageI just watched a Chuck Norris/Mike Huckabee ad on youtube.com and was again reminded... WHY was McCain even given the Republican nom??? He never even had a chance. Wow. Still blows my mind. Of course - he was already in the 'right' circles and had the money. Not as much money as Obama of course. So many things that make me say "wow".

MessageIt's ALL your fault!!! smilie

I don't think your vote would have helped McCain if that is who you were going to vote for... Good decision to not vote, you've got to take care of yourself!

MessageDaddy is hard to buy for too. When he wants something, he usually go out and buy it. So by the time Christmas rolls around, he already has what he wanted.

What we learned to do is if we find something that we thought Daddy'd enjoy, we wouldn't show it to him and keep it secret for Christmas. Like we discovered Eragon movie from library, we decided to get the movie for Daddy's Christmas. We were going to show it him till Mama suddenly said, "No, we're not showing it to him. That'll be Christmas present for him!"

I remember one Christmas when I had a job which meant I had lots of money to blow on Christmas, I got Daddy that nice drills tool box. He was SO EXCITED over that. smilie

By the way...I don't have any idea of what to get for Daddy. But I'll figure something out. I usually always get him some movies since he loves movies, but he seems to already see EVERY movie. Oh, well.

Wayne's easy to get presents for because he likes books. But yeah, it's true, men are hard to get presents for. smilie
